You can print the tag template for clothing or the tag template for non-clothing items on CARDSTOCK (no paper please- the tags tear off too easily during the sale) or you can fill out 3x5 index cards with the same information that is on the tag template.
-Fill out tags with your consignor number and item information.
-The first blank line is for the brand name. The second line should be used to give a brief description or to designate if the item has more than one piece (examples: 2 pc set or romper w/ hat).
-Don't forget to circle yes or no for the half-price sale. If you want to make sure you don't have as much to take home, we encourage you to include your items in the half-price sale. People love to get a bargain! Your items will have 2 whole days to sell at full price first and will remain on the sale floor even if you choose no for the half-price sale.
-Make sure the tags are secure on all your items. We cannot sell your item if it loses it tag, and that means less money for you.
NOTE: Please do not put too much tape on tags taped to plastic bags as this makes them very hard to remove during check out. Please leave at least one edge of the tag untaped for quick removal.
-Multiple piece tagging: DO NOT FILL OUT MORE THAN ONE TAG FOR MULTIPLE PIECES. If an item has more than one piece (crib bedding sets, large toys, etc.) fill out a tag as described and write the total number of pieces. For the other pieces, write your consignor number and the number of the item on a piece of masking tape and place it on the item.
-Price your items as if you were the buyer and not the seller. Ask yourself, "How much would I pay for this?" Items you prefer not to take home with you be sure to price low.
-Keep name brand, quality and condition in mind when pricing. Start at around 1/4 or 1/3 of the retail price for most items and adjust up or down according to condition and brand. Name brands/ boutique or large items may sell for more.
-When selecting your price for the item, think of the very least you would consider taking for it and that should be your price. If you can’t take half that amount, then do not select the half price option for that item. Do not let the half price issue affect your regular selling price because it simply makes the regular selling price too high. Remember, if you are going to participate in the After Sale Buy Out option then always mark it at ½ price.
-All items should be priced in $.50 increments only ($3.00, $3.50, etc.) No $0.99 or $0.75!
-All hanging items must be worth at least $2.00 or more. You can hang multiple items together to equal $2.00.
-Package similar items together for quicker sale. For example, match a top with a bottom, similar theme/age books, pairs of socks, or smaller toys etc.
-Consider this a great opportunity to clean out closets and kid’s rooms. Do not let your time and energy go to waste by not selling everything you put in the sale. Price it to sell! If someone comes to the sale and gets lots of bargains, they are probably going to tell their friends. The success of Kiddo's Closet depends on a good turnout of shoppers. If we give them the bargains that they want, then our shopper base will grow each year.
